NICEP Certification Qualifying Examination
Selecting an Exam Proctor
DISINTERESTED THIRD PARTY
To ensure that each examination takes place according to NICEP exam protocols, your exam must be Proctored (administered) by a licensed financial, legal, or tax professional ‐ or other qualified professional conditionally approved by the NICEP. Your Proctor must have no vested interest in the outcome of the exam and therefore may not be related to you by blood or marriage, or under your employ or influence in any way. Falsifying Proctor information or not following the NICEP Examination Guidelines will result in failure of the course and may be cause for your termination from the NICEP program.
Your Proctor will be required to complete, sign, and submit a “Post Examination Proctor Statement” after completion of your exam, attesting to their status as a disinterested party and their proper administration of the exam.
If you have not already done so, begin thinking about an appropriate and amenable colleague in your locality to serve as your Proctor. The date, time and place of the examination should be mutually agreed upon between you and your Proctor. If a fee is charged for exam Proctoring, you are responsible for any fees.
PREFERRED PROCTORS:
Licensed Securities Professional
Licensed Insurance Professional
Licensed Legal Professional
Licensed Tax Professional
POSSIBLE PROCTORS:
Established Public, Private or Military Testing Center
University/College Professor, Dean, Director, or Official
Commissioned or Senior Non‐Commissioned Military Officer
Police or Fire Service Officer (Sergeant or higher)
Public Library (if properly manned and amenable)
Once you identify a willing Proctor, you must provide their name, profession, and contact information to the NICEP for approval. The NICEP reserves the right to verify Proctor qualifications, require additional evidence of eligibility, or require a different Proctor be selected. An approved Proctor will be contacted directly from the NICEP. He or she will receive a set of emails including:
An Exam Proctor Agreement (utilizing Adobe Sign) requesting their review of the NICEP Examination Guidelines and their acceptance to serve as Proctor,
An Exam Proctor Unique Access Code with which to initiate the examination, and
A Post Examination Proctor Statement (utilizing Adobe Sign) for the attestation and verification of proper examination protocols.
